Its been way too long since my last post, work is super busy, we are looking at moving again and I started my masters this fall. But I have some time now and will try to keep up as we move forward this season.
Since my last post, the Hitmen are an impressive 11-5-1 and have jumped up the Eastern Conference standings. At the end of October they were 2nd last in the conference and as of right now they sit 7th. One point up on the 8th place Rebels and 2 points up on 9th place Regina.
Why the turnaround?
First and foremost, I believe having Chris Dreidger finally healthy, getting into the net and playing well gave the rest of the boys lots of confidence. Brandon Glover has actually been really good in his last few starts and actually took some playing time away from Dreidger the past couple of weeks.
The second reason for the turnaround, without seeing them live, it seems that most of the veterans are finally really carrying this team. Cody Sylvester and Jimmy Bubnick have been racking up a bunch of points the last couple of weeks. The 2 imports Victor Rask and Alex Gogolev have been really good as well and not to forget Danny Gayle. Gayle had 31 career points coming into the season and has 25 points already this season.
Tomorrow is the annual Hitmen Teddy Toss, should be a great afternoon at the Saddledome.
